Match Report & Highlights: Costa Rica 1 Italy 0

Costa Rica booked their place in the round of 16 with a 1-0 victory over Italy as they became the first side to qualify from Group D -- eliminating England in the process.
Jorge Luis Pinto's side impressed when defeating Uruguay 3-1 in their opening game and continued to defy expectations with an impressive performance against the Italians.
There were chances for both teams in the first half, with Mario Balotelli going close for Italy, but Costa Rica caused real problems in the dying moments of the half.
They seemed to have earned a penalty when Joel Campbell burst into the area and looked to be bundled over by Giorgio Chiellini, but the referee waved away the appeals. The outrage did not last long, though, as moments later Bryan Ruiz headed Junior Diaz's cross down off the underside of the crossbar and just over the line.
Italy tried to force an equaliser in the second half but struggled to find inspiration against a Costa Rica side that looked threatening on the counter.
Victory means Costa Rica are certain to reach the second stage for the first time since 1990, while Italy and Uruguay -- who have three points apiece -- will battle it out in the final match to join them.
England, who have lost both group games to date 2-1, now have no chance of reaching the knockout stages.
