Manchester City v Liverpool match preview

Cast your minds back to last season, with one of the closest title races in history poised to go down to the wire, Liverpool welcomed Manchester City to Anfield, both had the title in their sights. A Philippe Coutinho strike in a 3-2 victory for the Reds in that game looked to have tilted the title in their favour, however a Steven Gerrard mistake and a merciless City run of form in the remaining games meant the title slipped from Liverpool’s grasp and ended up in the hands of Manuel Pellegrini’s team.
This is only the second match of the season yet there is the potential double reward of a title rival being defeated plus crucial momentum achieved. As the deal for Mario Balotelli was not done in time for the forward to be available for Liverpool, Manchester City must surely fancy their chances of finishing Monday evening with all three points, especially as only Alvaro Negredo and Eliaquim Mangala are unavailable to Manuel Pellegrini.
Filling the void left by Suarez will be difficult and Rodgers will be desperate not to fall into the trap Tottenham did last season when they tried to replace Gareth Bale with quantity in terms of players, instead of quality. Having said that, Liverpool have splashed the cash this summer, ransacking Southampton for Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren, as well as signing Alberto Moreno, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic from the continent.

Match Preview: Everton vs Arsenal

Arsène Wenger has his World Cup winners back for the visit to Goodison Park and the availability of Mesut Özil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski is timely following a taxing Champions League trip to Istanbul in midweek and the loss of Mikel Arteta to an ankle injury. Arsenal will still have nightmares about their last visit to Goodison Park, where they were turned over 3-0. Everton’s attacking display, with Romelu Lukaku moved wide and Steven Naismith operating as a false nine, left Arsene Wenger and his back four shell-shocked. That encounter was back in April and really stoked the flames of the race for the top four. This year’s fixture comes considerably earlier in the calendar, and with the Gunners fancying themselves not just as top-four material but genuine title contenders.
They certainly proved in last weekend’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace that they possess that most important of title-winning credentials: the ability to grind out three points while not being at your best. Aaron Ramsey’s late winner will give him the confidence to continue the form he showed last season with the red card he received in midweek not affecting his eligibility for this encounter.
Everton had a shaky start to the season, their defensive lapses against Leicester costing them two points. Boss Roberto Martínez had a stuttering – if not disastrous – start to last season with three draws, and he’ll be eager to pick up points earlier this time around as the Toffees look to launch a concerted bid for the top four.
Everton midfielder Darron Gibson could be back in contention for Saturday's Barclays Premier League visit of Arsenal after 10 months on the sidelines. The Irishman, who suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage last October, has steadily built his fitness and is thought to be nearing a return. Right-back Seamus Coleman (hamstring) is also fit after appearing as a late substitute at Leicester last week but striker Arouna Kone (knee) and midfielder Bryan Oviedo (leg) are not yet ready and midfielder Ross Barkley (knee) faces a lengthy lay-off.
Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta will miss the trip to his former club because of an ankle problem. World Cup winners Per Mertesacker, Lukas Podolski and Mesut Ozil could return to the squad after being given extra time off, as could forward Yaya Sanogo (hamstring) who did not travel in the midweek Champions League play-off away to Besiktas. Full-back Kieran Gibbs (hamstring) remains sidelined, while midfielders Theo Walcott and Serge Gnabry continue their recovery from knee problems and will not feature in the Barclays Premier League contest.

How to Play Fantasy Premier League
Fantasy football lets you try your skills as a fantasy owner. After you Sign up, you scout for and sign players, compete against other fantasy owners, and use all your skills to win the championship. Learning how to play fantasy football is easy; conquering your competitors and becoming a champion is a different story. You don't actually need to be a premier league expert to play this game. All you need to know is some basic knowledge about some premier league players and a bit of luck ;)
Sign Up Process
First of all to sign up visit the site Fantasy.PremierLeague.com there you click the sign up button and in the next page you click the register button under the login details and then you will visit the register form as shown below.
Fill all your true details and click next button. As you fill all the details in the next few pages your account will be created and you're ready to play Fantasy Premier League.
Transfer Process
After you Sign Up and Login click the transfers tab. There you will be given a £100million budget to start with that even Jose Mourinho & Pellegrini would be jealous of - and with that cash you need to put together a squad of 15 players including 2 goal keepers, 5 defenders, 5 Midfielders and 3 Strikers but you can select only 3 players from the same club. On to your right you can see the list of players and their prices denoted under £ sign. You can insert a player by clicking their name and you can expand the list of players by the drop down list given above. Using that drop down lists you can arrange the players by price, club, playing positions, past scores, selections by other fantasy managers etc. You will be playing only 11 players with 4 in the bench per gameweek so all 15 don't need to be top players. You can change your decision and change the transfers till the 16th of August. After the 16th you can only transfer one player per gameweek for free. Transferring more than 1 player may cost you (-4) points per player. So choose your first set of players wisely before the 16th.
If you're wondering what a gameweek is 1 gameweek is a saturday, sunday (Sometimes monday) where there is premier league matches. For example gameweek 1 includes matches on 16th saturday, 17th sunday and 18th monday.
Wild Card
A wildcard allows you to make unlimited free transfers throughout a Gameweek. Playing a wildcard will remove any points deductions from transfers already made in the same Gameweek. You can play 2 wildcards a season.One wildcard can be played at any time. The January Wildcard can only be used after Gameweek 20 starts (1 Jan 11:30) until Gameweek 23 ends (7 Feb 11:30). Wildcards are played on the transfers page but aren't active until you have confirmed the transfers.
Selecting a team
After selecting your players in transfers and confirming go to the Pick team tab. There you will see the 15 players you selected in random formation. Among those 15 players you can only select 11 to play in a gameweek and other 4 should be kept in the bench. You can drag and drop the players selected to the positions you want and unwanted players to the bench but make sure You can play in any formation, providing 1 goalkeeper, at least 3 defenders and at least 1 forward are selected at all times. But If one of the players you selected gets injured before the game or doesn't play in the game automatically the first player on the bench will represent him and his points will get added. So you must arrange your bench also in an order who will substitute automatically if such an incident happens. Keep the best substitute on the front of the bench. Every gameweek your team will be locked 2 to 3 hours before the game starts and after that you can't make any substitutions. After that you can change the team only for the next gameweek but not for the current gameweek.
Points system
A clean sheet is awarded for not conceding a goal whilst on the pitch and playing at least 60 minutes.
If a player has been substituted when a goal is conceded this will not affect any clean sheet bonus.
Remember that if many fantasy managers buy the same player his price will go up so its better if you buy the best players as early as possibe.
Selecting a Captain
From your starting 11 you nominate a captain and a vice-captain. Your captain's score will be doubled. If your captain plays 0 minutes in the Gameweek, the captain will be changed to the vice-captain. If both captain and vice-captain play 0 minutes in a Gameweek, then no player's score will be doubled.
How to Join a League
After entering your squad, you can join and create leagues to compete with friends and other game players. Private leagues are the heart and soul of the game, where you compete against your friends. Just create a league and then send out the unique code to allow your friends to join, easy!You can compete in up to 15 private leagues. There's no limit on the number of teams in a single league.
To join a league go to the Leagues tab-> There select the option join a league-> Then select the option Private league-> Click next -> Type the league code you have and click the button "Join Private League"
